Back for Good!

In approx. a month’s time I will be in Delhi. Yeah baibeh yeah! I’m moving back for good! :) Parents will be staying back here though.

Tasks in hand to be completed before moving back

  • Finish the huge stock of maggi occupying a rather large shelf in the kitchen cabinet.
  • Use all the stationery/ art materials I have bought in the past but never used. I must’ve spent more money on them than on … say… shoes. (Oh! How I love shoes!)
  • Meet every person I know around here and end up explaining why Delhi is so much better than Dubai.
  • Shop! Shop! Shop!

I will actually be visiting this place every 6months for visa stamping. Therefore, no frenzy of clicking pics, visiting places I haven’t seen so far and tasting the yummy delicacies of the region I might have managed to miss! ;)

Edited to add: Style Bhai passed his driving test today after 8 failed tries. I think it had to do something with the change in his attire. He wore jhakaas green corduroys today instead of plain black trousers which he always does. I now wonder…. what car would he be driving :-/

Style Bhai

So errr… I go… “Is that a tattoo on your arm?” He grins and nods.

So err… “Is that Eminem playing on your pc?”. He takes off his headphones, I repeat my question. He grins and nods.

So err… “You’re creating spreadsheets?!?!”. He stares at me. Grins and nods.

So err… “Good lord! You’re so fast at playing solitaire and freecell!”. Does some more clicking. Grins and nods.

So err… “Isn’t that a tantra t-shirt?”. He looks at his t-shirt. Grins and nods.

So err… “Gelled hair, torn jeans, matching shoes and belt… Off to a party after work?”. He checks if his hair is in the right place. Grins and nods.

So err…”Can I borrow the newspaper if you’re done with it?” Scrambles through the pages if he has missed out any newspiece or forgotten to solve the sudoku. Hands me the newspaper. Grins and nods.

His cool factor is 10 on 10. The coolest person in the office. Young, trendy and happening. A charmer. Mr. Grin and Nod. Our dear office boy!

This is when I sulk and try to fight the devil called inferiority complex.

Are we there yet?

As determined as I was to become the first female President of the country back when I was a kid, I am as clueless today about what I want to be. Back then, I believe, we all were asked, “Betaa, badey ho kar kya ban-na chahte ho?”(What do you want to be when you grow up?). The answer to it flowed as smooth as silk with no signs of hesitation or self-doubt. As if we knew ourselves to the core and had perfectly evaluated our then present and future skills. It was more like declaration and I would’ve also written it down somewhere and signed on it, just that I was still undecided about how my signature should look like.

Anyways, today if you ask me if I have achieved what I dreamt of back then, I would not know what to say. Have I grown up already? Is this when my achievements are judged? Shouldn’t I be getting more time? I would not know how to tell you that I don’t know what I want to become… where I want to go… what I want to do.

Will I be able to answer it, say, 20years from now?

Or may be I still have to clearly recall my real dream, real ambition as a kid. To be happy and enjoy life as it comes… and also learn how to sign the same way every time!
